She Believed She Could

Every little girl has a superhero living inside her imagination.

This piece tells the story of a child climbing an old weathered tree stump – missing a root, scarred by time – yet to her it is completely alive. Powerful. Dancing.
Unstoppable.

In her imagination the tree transforms into a magnificent warrior goddess, rising up, ready to take on the world.
Because that is what childhood imagination does. It sees life where others see only an old broken stump.
The roots move because she believes they move. The tree dances because she needs it to dance.

Hand sculpted from clay — every ruffle, every scale, every detail shaped entirely by hand.
One of a kind original.

This sculpture celebrates the imagination and courage of girls everywhere. A little girl climbs an old stump, and in her eyes it becomes a powerful warrior goddess rising up to take on the world. The ruffles, scales and moving roots are full of energy and wonder. It makes an inspiring gift for a daughter, granddaughter, niece or graduate, and a lovely piece for a girl’s room, a classroom or any woman who still believes in her own strength. Hand sculpted from clay without a plan, it is truly one of a kind and a reminder that big dreams can grow from anywhere.
