Chances.org

Everybody deserves a chance. Sometimes you can be the person who gives it.

I created Chances.org because small acts can open doors. A visit to someone’s shop, a shared fundraiser, a new subscriber, an encouraging message, or an hour of volunteered time can help someone take their next step.

We each have something to offer, even when money is tight. Chances.org gives people a place to share what they need, discover opportunities to help, and find encouragement for their own new beginnings.

Give a Chance or Ask for One

The directory connects visitors with people, projects, and causes looking for support. Someone might need readers for a book, visitors to a small business, signatures for a petition, volunteers, or support for a fundraiser. Posting a chance is free, and listings appear in random order so different people have a turn to be seen.

  • Discover chances: find a person, creative project, small business, or cause you would like to support.
  • Share your own chance: explain the next step you are hoping others will help you take.
  • Find practical help: explore resource guides for food, housing, jobs, families, seniors, and other everyday needs.
  • Use the free Toolbox: try a budget worksheet, a fresh-start check-in, kindness vouchers, or a plan that turns a wish into action.
  • Find encouragement: explore Life Guides, affirmations, journal prompts, meditations, and stories of kindness.
  • Ask Chance: talk with the site’s AI guide to find a starting point or a little encouragement.

One Small Action Can Matter

You do not have to solve someone’s whole problem to make a difference. Listening, sharing, visiting, or showing interest can be a meaningful beginning. If you need a chance yourself, you are welcome to ask.

Chances.org links to outside websites, so visitors should check the people, causes, and offers they choose to support. It is a personal project, not a registered nonprofit.

My hope is simple: that we leave one another with a little more courage, opportunity, and kindness than we found.
