I love how this piece changes as you walk around it. The four figures share one base, yet each has its own shape and direction, the way sisters, best friends or a circle of women can grow in different ways while staying rooted together. Like all my work, it began as a plain block of clay with no plan, and the figures found each other as I sculpted. It would make a meaningful gift for a sister, a mother and her daughters, or a group of friends who have been there for each other through every season of life. On a shelf or table, it is a daily reminder that we become who we are together.
